π΅ Money:
After an ongoing dispute spanning twenty months with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), tech entrepreneur and cryptocurrency guru Linus Williams Ifejika, also known as Blord, has emerged victorious in court. Announcing the news on his Instagram handle, @blord_official, to his 1.5 million followers, the head of the Blord Group shared: "I've successfully overcome and resolved the case with @officialefcc in the Federal High Court.
The Nigerian
Bitcoin Billionaire said his vehicles and properties have been returned to him. "Never imagined I'd be battling the Federal Government at my age, but I'm standing up for what's rightfully mine. This is evidence that the Nigerian legal system functions effectively." On August 31, 2020, he was apprehended by the
EFCC at his residence in Awka, Anambra State, erroneously presented alongside 14 others accused of internet fraud. Initially, three of his vehicles were confiscated, but the anti-corruption agency subsequently returned one to him while retaining his two Mercedes Benz cars and other assets.
Several months later, the prominent
Bitcoin trader initiated legal action against the
EFCC at the Enugu State Federal High Court. Proceedings had been ongoing since then, spanning over 15 months before a final judgment was rendered in his favor in May 2022.
Blord, who announced his victory on May 7, 2022, attributed his success to his supporters and legal team. "A huge thank you to everyone who showed concern, and a special shout-out to my legal team. Your relentless efforts made this possible," he expressed in his Instagram post.
He additionally dedicated his legal victory to Nigerian youths, asserting that "this triumph belongs to the youths," while also urging them to "learn to stand up for what rightfully belongs to us." Blord's wife, Francisca Linus, shared via the handle @mrs_blord, added: "Let it be known that any act of defamation against his name will not be tolerated. The justice system remains functional, so don't be intimidated. Know your rights and stand up for them."
She expressed gratitude to the legal team and the Chief Judge of Enugu High Court "for restoring faith in the government" and concluded with a message for the
Bitcoin giant's customers. "To all trading with Blord Group, hold your heads high. You now have every reason to boast. The name BITCOINLORD has become a movement," she declared. Few anticipated a positive outcome from the legal battle against the
EFCC when the
Bitcoin trader opted to challenge the anti-graft agency in court. However, after 15 months, he emerged triumphant from the courtroom and shared his victory on his Instagram page in May.
